The Chroma Haiku Home Santoku Knife 17.5cm is a super versatile knife that can be used for cutting fruits, vegetables, and even meats. Santoku knives are often compared with chef knives because of their functionality. However, santoku knives have the advantage of being more effective when it comes to cutting vegetables thanks to their round, wide blades.
Characterised by its great cutting performance, the blade of this knife is made of steel with 0.4% of carbon. This level of carbon makes the blade to have a hardness rating of 54 HRC in the Rockwell scale.
This knife is suitable for both left and right-handed cooks because it has symmetric edge in “V” shape. It is a blade super easy to sharpen once it has lost part of its sharpness. In addition, the blade can be easily replaced if necessary. Changing the blades is a very common practice in Japanese kitchens, but in European kitchens, the hygienic norms do not allow it in professional kitchens.
