3- Next, the second sharpening with water is performed by one of Japan’s most renowned craftsmen,
4- Damascus effect: a very detailed step done by a craftsman trained by his father, who was in turn a recognized specialist throughout Japan. He uses the technique called "halo" to create this damask. The pattern is thus finer, which allows the blade's thread to be harder, hence sharper.
5- Finally, the creation of the handle is carried out by a craftsman with more than 40 years of experience in the field, and who is specialized in the creation of Masterpiece handles.
Besides the expertise of the craftsmen, it is also important to mention that the materials that were used are of great quality, too. For example, the blade has a VG10 steel core, which was then supplemented with 32 layers of hard and soft steel alternately applied to this core. This composition gives an impressive robustness to the blade.
