More info

The Edonist knife series from the brand Sabatier is known for always manufacturing kitchen tools of high quality and an elegant, good-looking design. Therefore, the Sabatier Edonist 2-piece Carving Set is guaranteed to meet and exceed your expectations. The two items included in this set are the following:

1 Sabatier Edonist Yatagan Carving Knife 20cm

1 Sabatier Edonist Carving Fork 16cm

These two carving kitchen tools are perfect for anyone who deals frequently with big pieces of meat. The carving knife has a “yatagan” type of blade that can cut through meat with extreme ease. On the other hand, the carving fork is a great tool for holding roasts and ham while is being cut. It can also be used to serve the meat at the barbecues.

Despite of their different functionalities, both tools have many characteristics in common. For instance, their blades (tines) are fully forged. This means that they were forged from one single piece of steel, which was stamped at a temperature of 1100°C to improve their strength and durability. This process of forging is briefly illustrated below.

Manufacturing of forged blades

The type of steel used for the manufacturing of these blades has a composition of chromium-molybdenum-vanadium that has been reinforced with nitrogen. The addition of nitrogen during the process of melting steel at the steel mill is done to provide the blades with greater resistance to corrosion and longer durability.

Another common characteristic between both utensils is their handles. They are made of ABS, which is a high-quality synthetic material widely used in several other kitchen tools due to its hygienic properties. The handles are also secured with two crossing rivets that give them solidity and have an ergonomic design that allows you to hold the knives firmly and comfortably.

Both knives also have a very elegant design that improves the décor of any kitchen. Their good look is in great part thanks to the fact that they were both manually polished. However, to preserve their appearance, we recommend you to wash them by hand and dry them immediately afterwards.

This carving set was manufactured in Thiers, France. In fact, all products from the Sabatier Edonist series are great representatives of the well known French cutlery, and you can find them all here on our website!
