More info
This Shizu Hamono Nude+ Peeling Knife is a very useful tool for your kitchen. Thanks to its beak-shaped blade, this knife is perfectly adapted for peeling small fruits and vegetables, especially those with round shapes. Moreover, this compact knife can also be used for removing bad parts from bigger fruits.
As part of the Nude+ series from Shizu Hamono, this knife will blow your mind with its original and unique look. All Nude+ kitchen knives are characterised for their atypical shape that challenges all the concepts of classic designs in the world of cutlery. Meanwhile, they still remain products of excellent quality with a great cutting performance.
Knife's anatomy
The first thing that will catch your eye is its design. The knife is made of a unique, single piece of steel, which means that the handle and the blade are part of one continuous piece without welding between both parts. This type of construction gives the knife a truly classy and elegant look.
Characterised for being easy to maintain, the steel used in this knife is the AUS8, which is a Japanese steel alloy enriched with with molybdenum and vanadium. In addition, this steel has 14.5% of chromium content, which makes the knife more resistant to corrosion, and 0.8% of carbon, which enhances the blade's hardness and makes it remain sharp for longer time.
However, we can't deny that the truly special characteristic of this knife is its ultra flat structure, which is only 5 millimeters thick. Moreover, the surface is reinforced with a brushed steel finish that adds cachet and elegance to the knife. We must also mention that this knife comes in a compact, magnetic box that keeps the knife still during transport.
Maintenance tips
We recommend to wash this knife always by hand, and dry it immediately using a soft cloth. Then, store it in its box and put it away in a dry, safe place. Avoid putting it in the dishwasher and never let it sink in water.
