More info

This paring knife 9cm is a must-have in your kitchen, regardless of whether you are a professional chef or a home cook. It is ideal for cutting or peeling small fruits and vegetables with great precision. Its fine and small blade is just perfect for making decorative cuts that you wouldn't be able to do with a bigger knife.

It belongs to the Wusaki Pakka X50 series. All the knives from this outstanding range are suitable for both domestic and professional use. These knives let you equip your kitchen at the best price without having to sacrifice quality! Durability and ergonomic design are just some of the characteristics that make these knives so special. Let's not ignore their authentic and effective design, which makes them not only pleasant to use but also to look at!

The blade is made of German stainless steel with the composition X50CrMoV15. This professional steel is well known for its durability and because it is easy to maintain (both to wash it and to sharpen it). One of its best characteristics is its 15% of chromium content, which is what makes it so resistant to corrosion. Its carbon content is of 0.5% (which provides the hardness), and it is also enriched with molybdenum and vanadium (which enhances the resistant to strokes and its elasticity).

With a hardness of 56/58 HRC in the Rockwell scale, the blade of this knife remains sharp fora good amount of time and it is also easy to re-sharpen when needed. To do so, we recommend you to use one of the Wusaki whetstones, which are also available here on our website.

Another feature of the blade that is impossible to ignore is its hammered surface. Indeed, each blade is hammered with a mechanical press that creates patterns that are unique on each single blade. On top of giving an original look to the knife, the hammered surface also serves to reduce the stickiness of the blade's surface, which allows your to make cleaner cuts.

Furthermore, the blade has a V-shaped edge that was sharpened by hand with the use of a grinding leather band at a lateral angle of 15° (thus an accumulated angle of 30°). As a result , the blade is able to penetrate the foods smoothly and effortlessly. The excellent cutting performance of this knife will dazzle you since the very first cut!

Wusaki Pakka X50 knife

The handle of this Wusaki knife is also worthy of recognition. It is made of pakkawood: a composite material highly appreciated in the culinary world thanks to its durability and robustness. This material is the result of resin and laminated wood being compressed together by heat. In the end, the veinings on its surface provide a remarkable resemblance with wood. It must also be noted that pakkawood is also known for its anti-bacterial properties and its resistance to the changes in temperature. It has varnished to add an extra layer of protection against humidity and stains.

Thanks to its simple shape, the handle suits perfectly both left and right-handed cooks. The reddish, warm tones on the handle create the perfect contrast with the hammered steel of the blade. At the base (bottom) of the handle, there is an engraving of the Japanese character "Tiger." The handle of Wusaki knives are a bit longer than the average so that they are easier to handle (handle the handle, get it? we're sorry, continue reading).

Finally, what else is there to be said about this incredible Wusaki Pakka X50 knife? As if the characteristics mentioned above weren't enough, the knife is sold in an elegant, black box with foam in its interior to protect the knife from strokes. The box is so beautiful that is certainly perfect to offer it as a gift to a passionate cook.

For the care and maintenance of this knife, we recommend to wash it by hand using lukewarm water and a mild soap. You can then wipe the knife with a soft cloth to dry it before storing it in a safe place. You must know that when you receive your knife, the blade will be coated with protection oil. To get rid of it, all you need to do is to wash the blade before its first usage.

To have a look at more options, we invite you to discover all the knives from the Wusaki Pakka X50 series that we offer you on our website!
